What is inside

Historic rides, a museum tent and folk music

The Oide Wiesn is a separately enclosed area in the south of the festival grounds. It brings together historical fairground rides, traditional music, a museum tent and family activities. It began as part of the 2010 anniversary and became a recurring part of the festival. It is usually absent every fourth year when the Central Agricultural Festival uses the space; the next omission is 2028.

It suits visitors who want to slow down, see older attractions and hear more folk music. The official 2026 guide lists several rides at €1.50, with tents, food and other activities charged separately.

Tickets and timing

The €4 ticket applies only to the historic section

For 2026, adult admission to the Oide Wiesn is €4; children up to 14 enter free. After 9 p.m. entry becomes free through the exit gates only. The wider Oktoberfest grounds do not need an admission ticket. Recheck the official page for hours, access and any 2026 changes before going.

If you are planning a family visit, Tuesdays 22 and 29 September have reduced prices at many rides and food stands across the festival. Those discounts vary by operator, so compare the offer at the attraction.
