Choose the right day
Family days offer a useful starting point
The 2026 family days are Tuesday 22 September and Tuesday 29 September. Many rides, showmen and snack stands offer reduced prices until 7 p.m.; the exact offer belongs to the individual operator. A weekday visit can also make walking and finding a break easier than a packed Saturday.
You do not need to fill the whole day. Choose one or two rides, one food stop and a simple meeting point. Leaving while everyone is still having a good time is a valid family strategy.
Strollers and small bags
The family equipment rules are stricter than a city park
Strollers and pushchairs are allowed on weekdays and Sundays until 6 p.m., as long as the grounds are not too crowded. They are not allowed on Saturdays or the public holiday 3 October. Storage may be available at entrances for a fee, but capacity is not guaranteed.
Diaper bags follow the same maximum as other bags: 3 litres or 20 × 15 × 10 cm, with both limits applying. Pack only the essentials and check the official information again before travelling if a child needs specific equipment or medication.
On the grounds
Short loops, water and a lost-child plan
Save a meeting point before entering, take breaks away from the loudest tent entrances and use the free drinking-water fountains listed in the official visitor information. Children’s lost-and-found support is available through the Service Center if a child becomes separated from the group.
Bring ear protection if your child is sensitive to noise, keep a light layer available and do not assume every tent can seat your group immediately. The festival can be enjoyable without treating a beer tent as the only destination.
